Williamsburg music hall
The Music hall is located in the northern part of Williamsburg, Brooklyn. At first I wanted to say a little bit about Williamsburg itself. There are some good and bad points to go live there. The good points to live in Williamsburg are; that it is a good place to live for hipsters, it has a great location, it is fun, it has great bars and restaurants. There are also some bad points for living in Williamsburg; it is bad for suits, it has an expensive rent and the subway transportation is limited to a certain stop.
Hipsters are mainly listening to new emerging and independent music. The independent music is mostly about what is it being a hipster. The independent music scenes are mainly in the areas of; nu-rave, minimalist techno, independent rap, nerd core, elephant 6, garage and punk rock. The hipsters also watch independent and foreign films, read independent books and magazines. There are a lot of music concerts given in the music hall in Williamsburg. This music hall is mostly a place where the hipsters come to listen to music concerts.
My opinion about this is that i think, the hipster don't listen to the music because they all like it, but just to be different. Ofcourse there will be some people that actually like the music style. What I personally find really good about the hipsters is that they don't care about how the 'ordinary' people are behaving, but they just do what they want. Let the rest be, and let us be different.
The music hall is Williamsburg has a total of three floors. Each level of the music hall has a bar, completed with a lounge. The artists that are mostly performing in the music hall are indie-rock and underground hip-hop. Most of the time there is a concert, or a band playing in the music hall.
The Glasslands gallery
The Glasslands gallery is a music hall that is also located in Williamsburg. Compared to the Music hall of Williamsburg it is way smaller. In this gallery they host life music and dance parties. The Glasslands gallery was found in 2006. Hosting the life music, dance parties etc., made it a popular place. It became a multi-functional, art space. It became a fast-home to a certain amount of artists or musicians. The same as the music hall in Williamsburg, the Glasslands gallery is a very popular place for hipsters to go.
