Writing a blog

General objection
• The general objection of a blog is to discuss a particular topic, where people can post their own opinion about. In your own blog you give your opinion about a certain topic and you wait for people to comment on that specific topic. In this way it could be that you change your mind about the topic. A blog should contain a small introduction; in this you explain briefly the topic. In the middle you talk about the topic and tell the readers what you know about it etc. In the conclusion you give your own opinion about the topic. At the very end I always like to end my blog with “What do you think about it”? In this way people are be able to leave their own opinions behind.

Do’s
• Use a lot of pictures.
• Write in a way that it is attractive to read.
• Write in one language. By this I mean don’t use different types of writing styles.
• Use one type of writing because otherwise it will be very hard to understand for the readers.
Don’ts
• Don’t use a big text.
• Don’t swear in the blog.
• Don’t use to hard language, for a social blog you use a different type of language than when you write an academic blog. In an academic blog you use proper language in a more academic way.
Standards
• Use of good content.
• In an academic blog use the proper language.
• Make it interesting and attractive to read.
• Use descriptions.
• Use pictures.
• Persuade people on an agreement of the topic.
• There should be a personal opinion on the blog.
